MIF at the Whitworth
Richter / Pärt: This project brings together two of the world’s most influential and enduring cultural figures - artist Gerhard Richter and composer Arvo Pärt. Both men have made works inspired by and dedicated to the other and these are premiéred at MIF15 in this exhibition.
This is a past exhibition which ran from 9 July 2015 to 19 July 2015.
A suite of four new works by Richter Birkenau (2015) and Doppelgrau (2014) are presented with Pärt’s Drei Hirtenkinder aus Fátima in the gallery.
Commissioned and produced by Manchester International Festival and the Whitworth. Curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Alex Poots.
Drei Hirtenkinder aus Fátima will be performed live throughout the day from Thursday 9 July to Saturday 11 July by celebrated Estonian choir Vox Clamantis and thereafter by local choirs.
