The Whitworth is currently closed, but the park is still open
Thank you for checking in with the Whitworth.
We’re glad to hear the government announcement that museums can reopen from 4 July.
However, for the time being, the Whitworth will remain closed.
We're planning to welcome you back in September, we'll let you know the exact date as soon as we can.
Although we're eager to return and can't wait to welcome people back to the gallery, before we reopen we need to put safeguards in place. We're working on this process now and following government guidelines to ensure our visitors, staff and volunteers can be safe when we re-open.
The health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers remain our priority. The Whitworth is part of and supported by The University of Manchester, and we'll be re-opening in line with the University's guidelines and working with cultural venues in the city to do this as soon as possible in September. In the meantime, Whitworth Park remains open.
Please check back here and follow us on social media for regular updates.
