John Lyons Celebration Day
Get the summer holidays off to a great start and join us this Saturday!

Come, see, and celebrate the work our local schools have been working on throughout the summer term all inspired by our major exhibition John Lyons: Carnivalesque.
This is a free, fun-filled family-friendly day full of creativity, dance, music, and art activities.
Our brilliant partners Afrocats will fill the galleries with dance and music, as well as mask-making and loads more!
Bring all the family down to enjoy as we turn the gallery into a Carnival-themed space in anticipation of this Summer’s PLAYTIME Carnival.

*Parliament of Owls is a performance bringing together the creations of owls from the schools involved in the John Lyons project. The owls connect to the Trinidadian mythology and folklore in John Lyons' work.

All activities are FREE and drop-in unless otherwise stated.
Visit the Everday Art School on the Mezzanine level of the gallery, for ideas to help bring art into your everyday life. Open everyday during gallery opening times.
Gallery opening times
Open: 10am-5pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and until 9pm on Thursdays. The gallery is CLOSED on all Mondays.
PLAYTIME Carnival drop-in sessions run on Wednesdays 1pm-4pm, Thursdays 1pm-4pm, Fridays 1pm-4pm, throughout August.
