Silent Spaces

Enjoy the restorative benefits of being peaceful in a green space – no phones, no talking, no cameras.

The Whitworth’s Alex Bernstein Garden is one of a network of Silent Spaces across the country. In these special, biodiverse areas, people are encouraged to be silent, to switch off from the outside world and take time to reflect. Even as little as five minutes spent sitting here in quiet contemplation can help you to feel rested and restored.

The Alex Bernstein Garden was designed by RHS Chelsea gold medallist Sarah Price, and is planted with a calming palette of greens and whites. Designed for contemplation and reflection, the garden is full of shade-loving plants, with a variety of habitats helping to increase biodiversity.

Please visit the Silent Spaces website for more information about the project.
