Outdoor Art Club
Creative activities designed to encourage children to play freely whilst exploring nature outdoors.
‘The outdoor sessions are so much fun! I bring both my three and one-year-olds and they both love it. The session leaders are lovely and really good at encouraging children to explore nature but most importantly to just be children and play’ Outdoor Art Club participant
Splash around in the water play, create a masterpiece in our mud painting studio, and produce all sorts of yucky and marvellous medicines at the potion stations. In these free, drop-in outdoor workshops, children can move around the stations in their own time, playing and exploring at their own pace in a safe and enabling environment.
These sessions take place outdoors come rain or shine, so it’s recommended that you wear suitable warm clothing, waterproofs, and wellies, especially during the cold and wet months.
We believe that connecting children with nature early helps to foster a positive relationship with the environment. Through these sessions, we hope to nurture the next generation of climate change makers.
Our Outdoor Art Club activities work on a drop-in basis; during busy times you may need to be patient and help us to maintain a safe environment for all. If we are at full capacity when you arrive, don’t worry – we have our Welly Walks booklet, activity-filled Map of Whitworth Park and Gardens, and even a colouring-in version available to encourage you and your family to explore the art and nature in our park. Don’t forget we have a play park nearby too!
Outdoor Art Club sessions are FREE and drop-in, there’s no need to book.
