Come along and visit the art gallery, The WhitworthShop, café, the Park and grounds.
Art Gallery
Our usual opening times are Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-5pm and on Thursdays until 9pm.*
We are closed on Mondays, including all Bank Holiday Mondays.
Free entry, and open to all.
*Café early closure dates
The Whitworth Café will close early at 2pm (last orderes 1pm) on the dates below.
This is to due to a wedding taking place at the gallery. The gallery and shop will open as usual, 10am-5pm
Saturday 3 August, cafe closes at 2pm
Saturday 24 August, cafe closes at 2pm
Sunday 25 August, cafe closes at 2pm
Saturday 28 September, cafe closes at 2pm
Autumn 2024, Parkside entrance times:
The gallery’s Parkside entrance, off Denmark Road, closes each day at 5pm, from 1 November 2024 until 31 March 2025. The gallery is open late until 9pm on Thursdays*, during these winter dates please enter the gallery through the Oxford Road entrance after 5pm.
*The Whitworth will close early on:

Thursday 2 January 2025, 10am-5pm
The Whitworth Shop

The Whitworth Café
Located in the elegant glass and stainless-steel extension the café overlooks Whitworth Park and the gallery’s art garden.
Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-5pm*
*The café closes early at 2pm on some weekend dates over the summer, please see deatils below.
