We look forward to welcoming you to the Whitworth Café where the food and drink are made by our in-house café team, showcasing the best of local and seasonal produce, as well as some tempting treats for you to enjoy during a visit to the gallery.
About the Whitworth Cafe
Our café is run by the University’s Hospitality team, who offer exceptional hospitality, high-quality food, and exciting menus for a range of venues, events, and meetings across the University campus.
The menus at the café aim to showcase fresh local and seasonal produce from around the Manchester and northwest area. With a focus on using ethically sourced ingredients from specialist suppliers who commit to environmental and social responsibility.
Everything is served in our beautiful café and restaurant, a highlight of the Whitworth. Located in the elegant glass and stainless steel extension, the café overlooks Whitworth Park and Art Garden. With floor-to-ceiling windows, this is the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors, whatever the weather.

Please note: the last time to order food at the cafe is 3.30pm, the last time to order cakes and drinks at the cafe is at 4.30pm.
Places to eat your own food
To help protect the artwork and care for the collection,we do not permit visitors to consume food and drinks in the gallery's exhibition areas and public spaces.
Packed lunches, food, and drinks can be consumed in three designated areas at the Whitworth:
- Living Room
- Art Garden
- Whitworth Park
