School of Creativity
An experimental, shared workspace for lifelong learning – through play, making and collaboration
At the Whitworth, we want you to be a part of everything we do. That’s why we’ve transformed the whole Mezzanine Level into the School of Creativity. Open to all, it’s an experimental, shared space for workshops, activities, artist residencies and collaborations. We’re inviting you to test out new ideas and develop new ways of doing things through making, play and learning together.
Visitors, community groups, schools and other local partners are all welcome to use the School of Creativity on their own terms, with support from the gallery team. It’s a dedicated space for artists and creatives, helping to develop undiscovered talent from across Manchester. The School of Creativity is also central to the Whitworth’s work with our partners in the world of education, making collaborations with teachers and young people possible.
The School of Creativity is not an exhibition, although there will always be something for you to see. It’s not about achieving a finished object or display. Instead, it’s a constantly changing space – a place to celebrate creativity in all its forms.
