This summer, get creative with colour, paint and nature!
Inspired by the powerful landscapes of JMW Turner and vibrant Indigenous Peruvian art of Santiago Yahuarcani, our gardens, galleries, and studios become playful spaces to make, explore and imagine together.

All our activities are free and drop-in.

School Celebration Day
Saturday 19 July
11am-3pm
Kick off the holidays with a joyful day of creativity as local schools showcase artwork they've been making this term. Take part in a range of fun, hands-on activities. Find out more.

Colour Studio
Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays throughout August, plus Saturday, 23 August
All dates: 1pm-4pm
Play, paint and get creative in our open-air Colour Studio. Learn to mix your own natural paints, play with colour in our art studio and create your own mini masterpiece to take home.

National Play Day
Wednesday 6 August
11am-3pm
Join our friends Afrocats for lively storytelling and dance, brought to life through the colourful world of Indigenous Peruvian artist Santiago Yahuarcani.

Grandparents Day
Friday 8 August
1pm-4pm
Creative fun led by our Age Friendly groups, inspired by Santiago Yahuarcani’s intergenerational storytelling.

Art Baby
Friday 15 August
1pm-4pm
Sensory play in the gallery for non-walking babies and their grown-ups. Find out more.

Multi-sensory open-ended play for families with additional needs. Find out more.

Everyday Art School
Available during all gallery opening hours
A space to make and play. Enjoy our loose parts play area, try out our two Whitworth Minecraft arcade machines, and take time to sketch, draw and explore. Find out more.
