Bukky Baldwin - School of Sustainability
The Bukky Baldwin Universe launched the ‘School of Sustainability’ in 2019. School of Sustainability was a series of workshops aimed at equipping the public in hand crafted design and creative techniques. The workshops covered skills from natural fabric dyeing to embroidery, crochet, macramé, jewellery making and many more.
The aim was that everyone who came to these classes not only left with the skills to carry on themselves but also with a beautiful handmade item they’d created in the session. So, whether they were looking to learn a new skill or make gift for a friend in a sustainable way, the School of sustainability had something for them!
The workshops themselves were small and intimate classes, with a maximum of 6 people, to ensure people got the time and expertise needed from the workshop teacher. With this in mind, people booked early to ensure their place in the class. The workshops were situated in the colourful Bukky Baldwin shop at the Whitworth (in Autumn 2019-Spring 2020), with ready access to a coffee bar in the space. Each workshop ticket came with a free hot drink from the coffee bar.
There are more event to come so keep an eye out for new exciting workshops on this page.
We're looking forward to creating with you and stepping into a more sustainable future!
