Join us for the third Muslim Women’s Arts Festival! Supported by Muslim Women’s Arts Foundation. A marvellous selection of events is in store for the whole family, including art exhibitions, cultural hubs, calligraphy workshops, face painting, henna painting and more! An exciting opportunity for the whole family to explore their creativity whilst guided by the expertise of Muslim female artists!

Nearly all of our events are free. Donations are welcomed.

MACFEST 2024 Opening Ceremony

We are hosting the celebration of the opening of MACFEST 2024 and the launch of a new initiative, MACFEST Arts Awards!

There is something for everyone:

• Welcome speeches; and greetings from partners and Muslim women
• Poetry by the Blind Chef, Ibraheem Iqbal, Lydia Merrill, Aysha Yilmaz and Amir Arshad
• Moroccan Gnawa Music with Mestro Zakaryae/Zak
• Performance by Turkish Folk Dance group
• Performance by Nile Arabic School
• Nasheed by Whalley Range 11-18 High School
• Tilavat by Daniya Nourein, Manchester Sudanese School
• Art exhibitions and cake cutting

Hosted by Sandra Wong, Solicitor.
Welcome address by Qaisra Shahraz MBE and Ed Watts, Head of Civic Engagement and Education at the Whitworth.
Chief Guest, Mrs D Hawkins JP LLB, His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester.
