This February we open Everyday Art School: ideas to bring art into everyday life and rethink how we use it. A space to explore the idea of art as a process and reimagine what we might do with it.

To celebrate, everyone is welcome to join us for a week of free workshops and activities from artists and our partners.

All sessions are FREE, drop-in and open to all ages

Outdoor Art Club
Saturday 17 February, 10.30am-2.30pm

Creative activities designed to encourage children to play freely whilst exploring art and nature outdoors.

Quiet Mornings
Sunday 18 February, 10.30am-12.30pm

Multi-sensory, open-ended play for families with additional needs, facilitated by The Sensory Toolkit artist Sarah Marsh.

Go with the Flow
Tuesday 20 February, 1-3pm

Using our new Everyday Art School space and artworks from the collection to help inspire playful drawings.

Whitworth Minecraft
Wednesday 21 February, 10.30am* and 11.30am*

Create your own artistic creations in our digital gallery with artist Gemma Potter. The only stumbling block will be your imagination so come and play, make new friends.
*Two 1 Hour sessions.
Please note there is limited capacity on our computers for these sessions.

Time for Tea
Thursday 22 February, 10.30am-12.30pm
Location: Garden Studio

Drop-in workshop with Everyday Art School Artist in Residence Sally Hirst from Venture Arts.
Use recycled cardboard to recreate meals which are special to you, your family and friends and have a go in creating your own cardboard family meal.

WYC Mix it Up Money Game
Thursday 22 February,6-8pm

Whitworth Young Contemporaries, a programme for 16-24s, invites you to mix it up, think differently and use art ideas to make radical finance decisions through gameplay in designing how your world operates.

Inspirational Women Bunting Workshop
Friday 23 February, 10.30am-12.30pm

Help us create bunting to celebrate the women that have inspired you, whether that’s your aunty, a teacher or someone well known like the Pankhurst's.

Make Art, Make Change
Friday 23 February, 1-3pm

Come and join artist, Will Belshah to explore how art can help make change happen. Using art as an everyday tool ask – what do you want to change?
This workshop is for the whole family to come together to use art to ask for change.

Open Play
Every day, 10am-5pm

Self-led loose parts play session for all ages in our new Everyday Art School play space.

All sessions are FREE, drop-in and open to all ages.
We have a Quiet Space available, and all areas are accessible.
