Still Parents project

A series of free art workshops in partnership with SANDs, Stillbirth & Neonatal Death charity.

Still Parents project

Still Parents is the Whitworth’s award-winning programme to support parents who have experienced the loss of a baby in pregnancy or just after birth.

Explore your experiences of baby loss through art with the help and guidance of an artist alongside support from the Manchester Sands charity. Making is at the heart of these sessions as participants are introduced to new techniques and skills whilst surrounded by people who understand.

When: One workshop per month on a Thursday evening or Sunday afternoon. Please see the list of the current session dates below.
Where: Sessions will be in person at the Whitworth or online via zoom.

The Still Parents: Life After Baby Loss exhibition was on display between September 2021 and December 2022. This was the first exhibition of its kind, creating a platform to share personal stories, open up conversations and break the wall of silence that continues to surround baby loss.

The Still Parents: Life After Baby Loss book can now be purchased either online or in-store at the Whitworth Shop. A beautiful memory of a moving exhibition.

‘This is a beautiful book, compiled with care and a true understanding of the topic. Thank you so much for making it.’ Still Parent online book review.

Still Care is a new strand of work that compliments the multi-award-winning Still Parents programme. Still Care workshops will begin in February 2024.
