Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive (GMPTE) http://www.gmpte.com is responsible for aspects of public transport in the area. Their web site contains information on accessible transport and has a link to a Journey Planner.

By bus

There is a frequent bus service along Oxford Road to and from the city centre. In addition, the Oxford Road Link - bus number 147 - operates from Monday to Friday from Piccadilly Station. The route was extended in February 2006 to pass the Gallery. Visitors to the Gallery should alight at Nelson Street. Return using the same stop or the stop on Grafton Street.

By car

See map. Following works to provide improved disabled access, parking is now prohibited immediately in front of the Gallery. There is a drop-off zone next to the entrance. For Gallery visitors only, alongside the railings, there are three designated spaces for visitors with disabilities, and two short-stay (20 minutes) parking spaces. These are not reservable.

There is limited parking in Denmark Road (restrictions apply).

Parking is available in the University Car Parks at Cecil Street (daytime and evenings) and Dilworth Street (evenings only)
