Journey Planning

For visitors with buggies or wheelchairs, there's a ramp with automatic doors leading to the entrance on Oxford Road. There are lifts to all floors and a printed map and friendly staff to help you navigate the gallery.
The artwork doesn't stop when you walk out of the gallery, it's also in the gallery grounds. If it is a nice day why not enjoy a picnic surrounded by the artwork in the grounds and get creative with the Arty Picnic discovery bags? These include fun creative activities and a picnic mat to enjoy your lunch and artwork on. For the energetic there's a park next door for running around in!
Baby Changing and Toilets
There are baby change facilities on the ground floor in the accessible toilet next to the foyer. We also have accessible male and female toilets on the ground floor either side of the foyer.
Family Friendly Café
There's a great award winning café that serves child friendly meals. The Gallery Cafe was shortlisted for Family Friendly Café of the year at last year's Manchester Food and Drink Festival Awards.
Take a break, catch up with family and friends over drinks in the form of fair-trade coffees and teas, plus a range of organic fruit juices. To eat there are a range of popular handmade cakes always available, or delicious hot meals served throughout the day. For kids there's a dedicated children's menu, which is accompanied by free WAG BAG interactive art packs and the friendly staff are happy to warm up baby food. For the youngest members of the family high chairs are available, and there are colourful toys to keep the family entertained. If it's a nice day you can even eat outside in the gallery grounds on picnic tables. The café is located conveniently near the baby changing facilities.
