Hey! & Honeyfeet Knees Up
27 April, 2pm
The Whitworth may be closed, but our work continues. Join us for art, performance, workshops and courses – all held inside some of the city’s best-loved watering holes. Hey! & Honeyfeet Knees Up: Hosted by members of Manchester’s finest ethio-trad, folk-hop and barrelhouse-pop exponents, Honeyfeet, this session is an opportunity to flex your vocal muscles – while enjoying a Sunday afternoon pint. The band responds to work from the Whitworth’s collection with a selection of specially written folk songs. Your job is to form their impromptu backing choir, and make this interactive gig one to remember. Special guests from Manchester’s music scene will also make an appearance. Venue tbc. The Whitworth has now closed in order to carry out major development work, transforming the Gallery into a new 21st century gallery in the park, extending and doubling the size of the public space at the Gallery. We will re-open in autumn 2014.
While Whitworth Art Gallery is closed why not visit our neighbours... Manchester Museum has a new year-round programme for adults. Visit the Museum Meets blog to find out more, and take a look at photos from previous Museum Meets events on Flickr.
