“Children said it was ‘really fun! Particularly liked the ‘freedom’ of creating images in different ways, making their own choices and collaborating.” Primary teacher
Playful, practical and artist-led workshops designed especially for both KS1 and KS2 pupils.
Many artists in our collection express what they see, think and feel through drawing. This playful, hands on workshop encourages your pupils to do likewise. Explore a range of drawing techniques in a variety of media and understand how sketchbooks support artistic practice.
Learn how artists, architects and makers build, shape and create. Working alongside a professional artist-maker, pupils will learn new practical art skills and ways to communicate their ideas in both 2 and 3 dimensions. Choose from printmaking, Minecraft, and textiles.
The gallery is a rich visual stimulus that can help generate ideas, inspire creativity and encourage expression. Working with performers, children will learn to express themselves within their chosen art form. The workshops aims to encourage all pupils to participate and work together in teams to showcase their work in afinal, mini performance in the gallery. Choose from dance, music, drama, spoken word and animation.
Experience the gallery in a multi-sensory way. Participate in our interactive tour of the gallery, responding to the different spaces, the exhibitions, inside and outside. Workshops are tailored to suit your groups’ specific needs.
